A flower in the gray

The sun sets on that last, golden day
A chance to have a smile on your face
Again comes the numbers, whirling around
Making everything unjust and solemn

It's a test, as everything is,
But having people near shouldn't cause despair

I've recovered from a dark, long winding path
To which I met a fate I'm never going back

When school seems like a place to hide and run away
From bullies to popular kids, they make you feel gray,

But I took a moment to think about it all
And
Perhaps it's not just us that feel small

Everyone is human
Remember that every day

When school comes back your way, throw a flower in to the gray
