(as inspired by the faces of people when you tell them "I write Poetry) Why 'poem'? I prefer litralcarts or smackdabs. I could write a smackdab. With delineating reference and a grasp of reality so abstract I become more human, with balance. Kind of the epitome man-- not attainable through 'poetry' I could also burn my words. Survival. Until I say 'green apple-azure heavens' and I'm a poet again. I don't even have a ponytail.

I think it's marvelous to use the negative terms that are given you. It can be hard to start and keep in motion but it gives the culture a sense of pride and character as opposed to the anger that originally was construed. I think it's a great idea

i like the concept here - writing a poem about being a poet. some groups have 'reclaimed' words that have used negatively about them - how do you feel about reclaiming the word poet?

I used to not talk alot about writing poetry because of the looks I would get. Being a man, it's still kind of an issue to say that I'm a poet. People look and think that you're gay or super fem.
