The Game Is On
The Game Is On
The game is on
They just want to see you fall
They don’t think you are strong
They don’t expect you to balance on that wall
They want to see you break
Your shell shatter on the floor
They want to make
Sure you won’t breathe anymore.
It won’t stop with just a fracture or two
Because they get off on hurting you
They’ll taunt
“I owe you a fall”
They’ll prod
“You’re not worth it at all”
They know your pressure points
Your loves and loyalties
Your dreams and what you do.
They know how you tick
And will use it against you.
You may cry
You may chip
You will not die
You will not slip
You will not shatter
You will not fall
From top of that wall
There will be no kings horses
There will be no kings men
Who have a need to put you together again
That story will not be told
Through the streets with your name
Replacing the eggs
Who would fall down once again.
Perhaps you should smile
Now that you know
This story is not yours
You write your own
Life is a game, dear friend
And the game is on
So play it well
And know you are strong.
