Glass Bird
Friend, don’t be fooled.
This pretty face is not real.
It’s all just stained glass.
Don’t be fooled by the strong smile.
It’s already shattering
As your words crash against it.
Don’t be fooled by the clear crystal
Shards falling away
As the glass girl shatters.
But friend, don’t be fooled.
Those shards reflect the feathers
Of birds flying by.
Each feather reflection melting back together
Slowly turning into wings.
Friend, don’t be fooled.
The glass you shattered
Has given me wings
To fly.
