Grounding Exercise

See the eyes of pity
Hear the whispers they sing
Feel the shame surround you
Smell the salt on your cheeks

Taste the sour hatred bleeding down your chin.

Find what can't be broken
Seize the chance they cannot
Believe in future health
Change a world of promise

Bring back the cannons, and make the most of it.

Writing poetry has never been a crazy goal of mine; novels are more my style. Even with my love of writing, however, there is so much expressed in a poem with a few short lines, while Pros has to go into full detail. It is nice to relax with some imagery practice using poetry. Sometimes, a complicated issue doesn't require an entire book to discuss the issue.
