Hard Knocks

Sometimes, we don't live for ourselves

And for the lives of others

We purge our existence

We let others take an advantage

Of the life we were meant to live

We let family

Call us names

Make fun

Abuse us, hit us

Curse us, hurt us

Void of remorse

Our family takes us for granted

Arguments, fights

Dead to the point of bloodshed

And we just shake it off

We let friends

Stain our names

Use us, trash us

And at the end of the day

Mistrust us

After mistreating us

It's an everyday struggle

The pain and humiliation

The tears and self mutilation

But no one cares

Not family member

Nor acclaimed friend

We hurt ourselves

Depress ourselves

And we're not strong enough

To pick up the pieces

Of a shell made hallow

We can't escape it

Can't relate it

Make it

Into something that never was

That is what my life is
