hard times

Hard Times

Lonely.

People crowding, rushing past me,

Running to their friends after a long break

Waiting for someone to rush to,

I sit alone.

Fall.

Everyone was bustling around with glee,

They talked and talked, it was Halloween,

Noone to talk to,

I sit alone.

Winter.

Gifts crackling as they open,

I give but do not get.

Secret Santa, everyone but me,

I sit alone.

Spring.

Love is in the air.

Chocolate boxes and teddy bears.

Heartbroken and rejected,

I sit alone.
