Hate

She looks at herself in the mirror

The voices run through her mind over and over

Walking through the hall she is abused

She’s a little too tall, a little too short

She’s too skinny, she’s too fat

Not enough make-up, her hairs not done right

Why? Because she’s different

She dares to be different in a world of normal

But what is normal?

Conforming to society’s nasty ‘standards’

Or is it being just another ordinary person,

Or a clone to the person next to you?

She looks in the mirror and hates

She hates herself because she doesn’t fit in

Because she is different

She hates her self because they hate

They envy her because she does what they dare to do

But don’t because they’ll turn out like her too

Alone, she looks at herself in the mirror once more

Hate will be her fate
