Hating my culture.Wanting to

Hating my culture.

Wanting to be someone I wasn't.

Bullied for something I had no choice of.

Who my family are,

where they're from,

the language they spoke.

I have no control.

Embarrassed about who I am.

Until I make connections,

with people who share a common background,

I won't be able to accept who I am.

Because for as long as I am different,

from the people whos surround me.

That is simply all that they will see.
