High Ropes Course

I sit in the corner awaiting my turn, I'm in full panic mode as all my thoughts churn. The butterflies in my stomach take a turn for the worst When he called out my name I thanked God I wasn’t first. An aqua blue rope is my only support And I’m starting to wish that my arms weren’t so short. As I reach for the handle way above my head, My foot slip; it the only thing I dread. I look to the ground as I climb to the sky Fifty feet in the air? I think I might cry. Step by step, rope by rope Every challenge I overcome brings a new bit of hope. As I slide the lobster claws done the line I breathe in I breathe out, I’m gonna be just fine. Each step is tricky, I will admit, But I won’t give up and I surely won’t quit. Finishing the course is the only thing in mind; Sliding down the zip line, leaving all fears behind.
