I am . . . Human

I am human,

not some mutant.

Just because I am ordinary,

doesn't mean I am not extraordinary.

I am but a speck on this earth,

though I do not think that is a curse.

I am a small part of something large and beautiful,

though it may not always be  truthful.

I am not perfect,

people find me perplexed.

I am courageous,

at my best I am outrageous.

I am often left behind,

but I still remember to be kind.

I am forgiving,

looking past many misgivings,

Until I am gone,

Forgive me god.
