I Have

Have you ever looked in the mirror,

And wonder who looks back?

Have you ever feared him,

Who talked that splick and smack?

Have you ever felt the weight of words,

Breaking your neck and back?

Have you ever heard the murmur,

The gurgle of the dirty rat pack?

Have you ever tried to split atoms,

To try and take you back?

I have.

And I have looked in that mirror,

And broke the things I thought I lack.

And I once feared him too,

Until I realized his heart was black.

And I felt the words crushing my bones,

But I laughed and gave them slack.

And I heard their disgusting rustle,

But I excorsized the stack.

And I once regretted everything,

But now I smile and stand back.

Because now I know what makes me tick,

And holds the world together.

It's love for all, even you,

We're all birds of a feather.

So i forgive you and I forgive me,

And I realize all worth.

All I need is one of your jokes,

To heal every crack on Earth.
