I Thought, I Saw, I Conquered

Location

I was broken.

Shattered.

Damaged.

Worthless.

I was nothing.

I had nothing.

I was alone, scared,

Afraid to face my biggest fear.

I looked in the mirror

With a sight I only thought I could imagine.

My reflection showed perfection;

Perfection like no other.

It showed beauty that radiated,

Beauty that is rare,

Beauty that I should accept.

From that, I gained the courage

To say what was needed.

One day, I conquered my biggest fear;

The fear I held back with tears.

With confidence,

With lifted spirits,

I said,

"I am beautiful."
