I Too Feel Pain
I will never say that I know how you feel
Because I don’t
But I know pain
And I know hurt
I feel
And I know how it feels to want to cry
To want to give up and die!
To want to scream
Because everyone else is so mean!
The older ones tell me
That this hurt will pass
But it doesn’t.
It grows stronger
It lasts longer.
They say they know how it feels
But they don’t know a thing
Because they never used my voice to sing
My shoes to walk
My lips to talk
Or my mind to think
They don’t know me and they never tried.
So tell me why!
Why oh why do you think you know me so well?
Have you ever fallen?
Like I fell
I was hanging from a thin rope
But then it broke
And now I’m dead...
Inside...
I’ve died
I don’t want to feel
Because I know this is real
If this is reality…
Then let me drown in my fantasy.
I just want to brake down and cry!!
They say I’m strong
Because I’ve suffered for so long.
What kind of accomplishment is that?
It’s strength that I LACK!!
I admit that I’m weak and I’m scared
But that’s something I can bare.
But now you say that I am different!
What the hell does that mean?
A freak
An outcast
The person that is always picked last.
I don’t want to be different
It’s a curse
You’re the worst!
Don’t call me that again.
To me…
It’s a sin
You tell me to put my head up high and walk
But I just want to talk
But then I’m automatically crazy
Or maybe I’m just lazy.
Then you drug me up
Because I said my life sucks!
You say it’s to help me
But can’t you see, it only makes MYSELF worst
I’m not mentally ill
But still…
I’m emotionally unstable
And not quite sane
But who is?
Step up and speak their name!
Why is it so hard to say:
“I don’t want to feel this way”
Why must I be treated this way?
An outcast
An alien
Less than a human
Maybe it escaped your notice
But…
I laugh
I cry
I smile
I hurt
We’re both the same
Because I too feel pain
