Ignorance of Love
The ignorance of love, the pain of betrayal.
Oh how it tastes so sweet before it goes stale.
How my joy is all that I lust,
And my heart is what seems to always rust.
It's painful to see how I am falling down.
It's funny to see my smile fade into a frown.
The beauty of how this was once "You and me"
And now the remains aren't even a bliss memory.
It's like I've been thrown away, and pushed aside.
And all your silly tales are forming into lies.
Like how "no matter what you're always mine."
Or, "Things will change just give it time."
But where's the hope that you claim to perceive?
Things have gotten worse as far as I can see.
I could never forget your words spoken softly to me.
And how you subtly set my mind so free.
"Back to the beginning it'll be fine." he said.
But that's before these tears soaked my bed,
Before the demons were trapped inside my head.
Before I could tell it was getting worse,
Before I screamed oh so loud, because it hurts.
The promise that I've made, left broken on the floor.
Like glasses shattering with no remorse.
And every night I lay in bed,
Asking myself how we became so dead.
How this came to be so unfair,
And how this lead me into such a dreadful despair.
The many questions I tend to hear,
Are the ones I answer with honest fear.
You have turned me into such a toy,
And left my being, a constant void.
So I ask myself, "how did we end up like this?"
How can I explain the blood on my wrist?
And, how can I explain the the broken bones in my fist?
Why do I continue to be with you?
Because I love everything that you do.
You have killed the person within me,
But as much as I want to fight, the killers not my enemy.
It's myself, and I dread this hell.
So tonight I intend on leaving a farewell.
And in my note, I want you to conclude,
If I so happened to die today, tonight, or tomorrow,
It was all for you.
