Imagine That

Childhood: the incredible innocence of infinite imagination. A magical place in which all possibilities are possible, because no one has told you its not so I want to be a kid again, i long run and scream with my friends I want to play pretend I want to hunt bigfoot in the wild northern wilderness of my backyard I want to have tea in wonderland with alice, the madhatter and nessie, cause nessie is the shit. I want to be able to grab that star from orions belt, so his pants fall off, and his prey can escape I want to explore space in the dark of my closet with a flashlight, flash gordon and luke skywalker and if i get scared run to my father I want to get messy in the mud because i am a lil piggy, And when the big bad wolf comes, I can hide safely behind the walls a titanium house If he tries to get through i can pretend him into a shitzu But tough shit dude, cause we all have to grow up sometime And at the time it seems great, getting money for your teeth, presents on your birthday, But what they dont say, is you cant go back to way you were in the first place Growing up: were boundless imagination is beat on an anvil, From formless ore to sword. School is the barbaric blacksmith. Your peers enact the hammer, bludgeoning the dreamer, Shaming a star peg into a square hole. Saying "Lose your limbs, and join us for sweet solace in the safety of similarity "Besides, Brilliance makes it harder to see in the darkness. So why should we all be blinded by the likes of you. " The words freak, weirdo, faggot, bitch and loser, are used like piano wire by shapeless assasins. Taking something that should be used to create art, but instead make it kill creativity. Yet it is the ignorant ishmaleians who should be afraid. For what the dreamer holds is infinitely more potent. A free mind is twice as dangerous to the status quo, more so then every weapon in every arsenal around the globe from dagger to missle. We are the subversives substituting subtext for sub-machineguns and nuclear submarines. Screaming "Now i am become death, the destroyer of worlds". My pencil is like shiva, creating and deatroying for the thrill of it. And in a world of permanence, were words are used to define the definitions, this is unacceptable. Any one of us could have been a DaVinchi, Einstein, or Ghandi. Imagine a world of shakespeares, rumi's and silversteens. The only thing keeping peasants from kings is stolen self esteem. The golden dream, the infinite sea, the pure rainbow light that shines from every stone. Infact the light shines so bright it sends the assasins scattering, like roaches from a compact flourecent bulb. The ore shines With such blinding brilliance that even the blacksmith misses, and brings his hammer down, cruahing his own fingers. No one ever said it was easy being a dreamer you must have the fire of a dragon, but never let your skin grow thick Chase your personal unicorn across that rainbow bridge Take a trip, dig to china And dig deeper Past the one sided history lessons, algebra, and statistics. Push aside what you have been told is and isn't and remember what you are, What youve always been what you were born to be. Free Imagine that
