Inside My Mind

Inside my mind lives a world of my creation,

a place where lovers meet, and tragedy happens.

Inside my mind is a world of wonders,

a world where Heaven and Hell coincide, and angles and demons thrive.

Inside my mind I am pure, yet my thoughts are tainted,

I see a heart black as coal, yet as transparent as air.

Inside my mind puppets dance at my command,

demons find you where you hide, guardians keep their promises.

Inside my mind heartbreak barely lingers,

joy is ever present, however shadowed it may be.

Inside my mind live my only friends,

my dearest possessions, they keep me sane.

Inside my mind I am always working,

thinking to change life, how to live on.

Inside my mind I have killed you,

both loved and loathed you.

Inside my mind is my haven,

truly the only place I desire to be.

Inside my mind there are no rules,

no limits to what I can do, no need for hesitation or contemplation.

Inside my mind I am free,

to be who I am without ridicule, without a care.

Inside my mind I can escape,

I can't hear the words you say, nor see the pleasure that you take.

Inside my mind I am in control,

but when I am out, the control is yours.

Inside my mind I am always thinking, scheming,

someday I will break free, and you will be left asking why,

unless you finally see, unless you finally leave me be, and let me be me.
