Inside My Wall

Inside my wall's a nightmare,

A horror I have to live.

I've shoved it down, deep inside:

My place of hurt and sin.

I've gone through many breaks

And tried to heal each time,

But end up shoving down my pain

Just so I can hide -

A gorgeous smiling mask.

I hide so I can't show

My want for acceptance,

My need to love and grow.

Those words still sting today,

Still burn inside my head,

And nightmares dance around me,

Above my freezing bed.

I fight off if I can

But the scars stay on my heart.

I try and stay together

But it's too easy to fall apart.
