JRA
JRA
Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.
300,000 kids in this Country
Who live with a Disease that Cripples them.
Degrades Them.
That Steals from Them.
It's in their blood, it's in their bones.
It's in their skin, its in their spine.
It hurts them, plagues them,
It makes them burn and leaves them unmoving on their beds.
The Kids at school are cruel.
'You are different' they say.
And they never let those kids forget it.
Those kids who are hurting, who are crying;
Who should be shown love and comfort are being
Bullied.
How can people do this to them? How can we let them?
Aren't the pain killers, the meds,
the doctors, the hurt enough without the Abuse?
Family, friends, kids.
All those who don't understand what they are going through.
We live in a world
that Teaches Equality and Love.
Practice what you Preach.
Love these kids.
I've seen their faces.
I've heard their stories and have witnessed what they go through.
I've seen their tears
And I have cried with them.
They just want someone to understand them.
They just want Friends
Who will brave the cold and dark with them.
Who will cheer them on
In their Darkest Days
And Be there to Hold them When the Times get Too Tough.
Forever.
Forever until the Pain Stops
When the Meds Are Pushed Back
When the Miracle Comes
And the Healing Begins.
But the Healing Begins NOW.
With What we Say. With What we Do. With How we Treat Them.
Now. Let's Start Now.
Before it's too Late...
Before They Leave Us with No One to Wish them Good-Bye.
Before we are left Wondering Why.
