Known All Along

Pushed in a corner I don’t understand Why they stand and watch But don’t lend a hand I thought we were friends I thought that they cared But I’ve learned the truth They’ll never be there I rock back and forth I try not to break I tend to my wounds And try not to ache I smooth out the wrinkles I try to stand tall But they’ve broken my stance My pride took its fall Maybe they’ll listen Maybe they’ll care But so far I know That life isn’t fair I see my reflection I look in the mirror And suddenly it seems Everything is clearer Forget all their words It doesn’t matter All that they say Is merely just chatter I can stand up I can stand tall I don’t need help No, not at all I don’t need others To know that I’m strong I don’t need them to say What I’ve known all along

I like to write. I'm not that good, but I still write more than I should.
