The Least That Could Be Asked

Why the hatred?
Why the spite?
Because of the way I look you wish to fight?
Inadequacy bearing down, and mockingly you smirk as I frown.
It is pitiful in all honesty, for the country we live called the land of the free,
but to be hated and spited and held in contempt, because of what we wear,
how we look, how we eat. What did our forefather's die for? Not for this I know indeed,
but of course, someone like you needn't take heed. You bully, you give pain, you take pleasure in it.
It's not only you though, that I know is true. The scared and the frightened? They are as guilty as you.
For is it not written, "Love thy neighbor as yourself?" But what happens when the neighbor refuses to help? It's a tumor on society this bullying business. The kids who end it themselves won't get another Christmas. This story isn't random it's an everyday thing. Every man woman and child has felt it's torturous ping. If we don't act it will never end. Life can be cruel but everyone needs a friend. Don't let that kid go on bullied uncontested. Reach out and help. It's the least they could ask for.
