Life & Death Sestina

1. My life, tenuous, on a knife's edge. I may die 2. A gruesome death on a cloudy night, I 3. But to live until dawn's 4. Break. is another chance to appreciate the life 5. I have and know that happiness 6. Is everywhere. The rising sun 1. Shows me that life 2. Can have happiness II 3. And is worth going through the night. 4. The sun 5. Gives me reason not to die, 6. And as I gaze out to the sky, I see the dawn 1. With all it has to promise: happiness. 2. I watch as the dawn III 3. Fades away into the sun, 4. Giving me new perspective on dying. 5. That night, 6. I almost die, and am the fullest with life. 1. I struggle through the night, 2. In the dark, awaiting the sun, IV 3. For its breath of life 4. Brings me the happiness 5. Of living, and with the dawn 6. I know that I did not die. 1. Hope, not for me, but all mankind: dawn. 2. Hope to know that though we will die, V 3. We can live in happiness. 4. Though the night 5. Is long, the sun 6. Will always rise with new life. 1. Look around and see sadness and happiness 2. Everywhere, depending on where you look. Life VI 3. Is meaningless without death. 4. And death is just a new dawn 5. A new adventure, not an endless night. 6. A new awakening, rebirth, from the sun. 1. Death gives life. 2. The night is darkest before the dawn. 3. Happiness is everywhere in the rays of the sun.
