The Lonely

Going through the motions in a world of shadows. Looking for meaning in a place where there's none. Looking for happiness when I'm all alone. Listening for music in the deafening silence, Searching for love in the unending quiet. I can't even see the girl I used to be In the empty eyes in the mirror staring back at me. I dance alone to the sound of silence, Slowly drowning in a sea of quiet, My only companions a host of shadows Climbing through the open window. Tonight the loneliness claws at me Keeps me awake so I can't sleep. There is no peace, not for me When I'm haunted by The Lonely.
