The Lonely Bird

Does anyone listen

To the bird perched upon the tree.

The one who tries to listen

The one who always sees.

Does anyone listen

To the bird soaring through the sky.

The one who sings so loudly

That one sweet lullaby.

Does anyone listen

To the bird perched upon the tree.

The one who's always present

The one we never see.

Does anyone listen

To the bird soaring through the sky.

The one who droops with sadness

The one who never cries.
