Lotus Flower

The Lotus Flower.

It blossoms in the muck,

Where it shines its beauty

And gives the power

To overcome the pain.

The pain that I felt,

When your words slashed me to pieces.

When your fists smashed me to nothing.

I was surrounded by darkness...

I was nothing,

I felt nothing.

You beat me down; I didn't feel the same.

I felt lower than lower could get,

I felt useless.

That nothing could get better,

That I was worthless...

I was nothing,

I felt nothing.

Until I saw that light,

The one that I needed

To bloom,

Into the Lotus Flower I am

And always will be.
