This is Me

The sharpest of words cut through me

Like a knife, rendering me helpless

And broken.

In pieces I sought someone to love

Someone who knew me inside and out

Someone who listened.

As time went on

I began to see the beauty

in myself and finally realized

that no matter what was said

Or done to me, it could no

longer hurt me.

In the mirror I still

see the flaws, but I have

accepted all that I am.

I am glad that I am

The way that I am.

I am beautiful, strong, and enough.

I am me.
