Mental Scars

It's time for school to start. I didn't know it could be such fun. You know learning. Walking down a few blocks to get there was never a hassle. The kick me signs, or being ignored when it came to lunch. Not having anyone to partner with at group activites because no one wants to talk. The kid that made it a game to try and trip me down the stairs. Or the girls that would throw things at me. They weren't hassles either. I Guess That Is What Was Suppose To Happen. Questioning it never crossed my mind. It would be the jokes I could never really laugh along with The voice I never got to use. The feelings i had to lock up. The belonging that wouldn't be mine. It just wasn't right but complaining wasn't going to fix it. And changing myself was not an option. My mother told that Sticks and Stones saying every mother drills into their child's head. But Words hurt more that punches They followed me back home Involuntary solitude pained me more than kicks They kept me feeling worthless when I had already hit the ground. As I grew the problems faded the wounds wide open. I guess time wants to let it go but my minds has the permenant scar.
