Middle School Hallways

We were walking through the halls

us, the people who didn't fool around and fall

us, the kids who looked  out for one another

so we could be there when one got into a brawl

people say, "it's just the normal school life, just get used to the groups and such"

i didn't care about what i had or what i wore

i cared about the air i was breathing

the time i was spending,

thinking

it's hard to explain

i don't want to get made fun of for staring

for eyeballing

for listening

but all those people make me want to puke and leave

what i said then

is true

bold and clear
