In My Mind
In my mind
You'll find an interesting group of things
A trail of broken promises leading to a river of tears never shed
A storm of frustration
A dark deep casm, the bottom being where my self-esteem
A forgotten self worth, lying on the ground like a dirty forgotten penny
Just like the day I left it there
A mirror with a list of imperfections written in sharpie
Come along, there's more to see.
A broken train of dreams with broken rusty tracks leading to a tunnel
At the end you'll find a wall.
Old
Unmoving
Sturdy
On it written in sloppy child's handwriting and neat swirly sloppy writing you shall see
Questions some faded some strong
But one
One stands out among the rest
Carved into the wall
The ground underneath wet with a puddle of tears that grows with each visit
'Why try when I'll never be as good as her?'
