My Sister's Shadow

She cuts me down It tiers real deep Do they see me Can they see me bleed Everyday, every minute They only care cause “she didn’t do it” It makes me feel Like I weigh a ton My face is backwards And I’m always wrong Can I do right Is it a lost cause Am I worth it Or should I just give up Is it my fault Did I really do it Should I be here Can someone see me through it Or will they see What she sees Then turn around And run away Will I be alone For all days end Or will someone come To be my friend My story cries While my heart bleeds And my soul dies I’ll stay right here Till the end comes Till someone dares To love me And to be my friend But will mine love me for here I sit Waiting still To here those words “I’m sorry you couldn’t deal” She wont say them I know its true So still I sit here alone and blue Maybe soon I will walk away And find a place that I can live A place where I matter Where my soul soars And where I matter most of all

All my life I have fought to get out of my sister's shadow and going to Graduate School was my way of doing it. This Scholarship would help me financially escape my sister's shadow.
