My Spotlight
It's my time to shine now.
I can do it on my own.
Your petty help is unneeded.
For once leave me alone.
I'm tired of being in you shadow.
You think I'm nothing without you.
You will soon find out what is true.
This is my spotlight tonight,
and though you'll try with all your might,
you can't take this away from me.
You'll undercut my ideas and sabotage my work.
You'll make me miserable and for what?
So you can come back,
but in the guise of an angel.
You'll try time and time again,
but now now, not ever.
Leave me alone.
This is my spotlight
not your own.
You say I'm unable to accomplish anything
and you say I will fail at life,
but you are wrong and I'll prove it.
Years from now you'll look back and see
that what you saw wasn't me,
it was you actually.
But that was in the past,
I"ve put it behind my back.
I have my own spotlight
and even though you'll try
you won't succeed.
For this is my spotlight
not made of your might,
but of my very own plight.
So leave me be.
I've made it clear you won't succeed.
But just the same,
you will keep trying in vain.
Before you go once agian
just the same as it has always been.
Know this, "Without me
who would you be?"
You only lived to torture and haunt me.
What aare you going to do now?
For once get your own life
and stop living through me.
This is my spotlight
made from my plight,
but turned into my might.
