By Myself

Always by myself, I don’t make a sound

I could pound and pound on a drum

But you would not hear me

You push me down, call me names

Am I alone, no I am

By myself

Always by myself

I try not to cry

It makes me feel smaller

Even though your greater and taller

You can make me feel inferior

You push me down, I get back up

This time there is no name calling

Always by myself, I don't make a sound

When you see me, I am the ant and you are

the elephant step on me, I shout to you

But do you hear me? No you don’t

But do others? yes

My smile blooms when I saw you

Next day I was never by myself

Today’s a new day

I talk to people, do they hear?

Yes, they do.

When they spoke I knew what they could hear

They could hear the bangs on the drums

When they listened I knew they could see me

They could see I am Rylee Bauknecht
