The Need for Friends

Location

In the darkest moment

My heart cried out in fear

All alone to lament

Not a friend to lend an ear

Pain like that bites the soul

It can break a heart in half

I prefer my heart to be whole

So that I again can laugh

People notice change

It was not long before

My mood was known as strange

Friends appeared at my front door

Showered like a spring rain

With their love and care

Happiness, I did gain

This feeling to me was rare

My empty soul now full

Heart beating as one piece

Gone is my burden to pull

All loneliness has now ceased

To friends I owe my bliss

They got me through the day

When my happy smile was amiss

They helped me in every way
