No One Cries

Her eyes are cried red; her cheeks are pale and flushed,

But they don’t think she’s had enough,

Of their poking, prodding, and abuse from their words.

Everyone hears, but no one even turns.

Sleeves cover the scars on her wrists

But everyone’s to blind and they miss

The pain in her eyes, the fear in her face

And everyone makes the biggest mistake

No one ever said a word

To save the poor girl’s life

And now it is gone.

She took it this very night.

No one thinks much of it:

The fact that she isn't there

But when they announce her death,

Guilt hangs in the air.

But no one confesses

And the school moves on

Because no one cries

For the girl who is gone.
