The Only Escape
The feeling of being loathed,
exacerbating the pain of being a humiliation.
Knowing it is not my fault,
death standing still, mocking me; telling me I don’t deserve to live.
Hypotonia and Down syndrome weakening my body,
people enervating my heart; becoming convicts of my murder.
The closest things he has to a stepfamily,
try their best to avoid an abnormal child; breaking every ounce of his body.
5 Now I sit on the sand, alone, with water, dirt and death as befitting companions,
the water calmly calling to me; trying to swallow me into its darkest parts, aiming to protect me.
I will answer that call,
I was dead when nobody wanted to be friends.
I was dead when my alleged parents pushed me into the injustices of the living world.
I was dead when every single person intentionally carved a hole in my heart,
Their words telling me I am worthless, their faces telling me otherwise.
I have no heart; it is dead.
10 It wept everyday; it yelped for help every single day,
but not a soul responded.
I am dead.
It is the only escape,
I will answer his call.
The feeling of being hated,
worsening the pain of being a humiliation.
