Or So You've Heard

So you think you know me?

So you think you have heard all there is to know?

Well, I must tell you

As someone who knows best

You've barely scratched the surface

So you heard I lied about this and that?

So you heard, so you heard, so you heard

But, let me tell you

As someone who knows best

You have barely comprehended the pang in my chest

So, it's funny how you thought you knew me,

Even though we've never spoken before

Isn't observing all the same,

along with the gossip . . . the shame?

Well, let me tell you

 As someone who knows best-

You can look deeply into someone's soul

Or be ignorant like the rest
