Our Final Friday Night Lights

You need to check my phone every night.

My location is required to be on at all times.

If I don’t answer your call you assume another man is with me.

Asking to be a teenager has became a habit.

Not only am I branded, all of my friday nights are taken.

Sitting under the lights by myself, waiting for a turn over.

Yet at times I catch myself wanting for this game to be over.

The game always needs support and it’s somehow it is ok for cheerleaders to scream

They scream your name in the locker room, after the game.

When am I allowed to be myself without judgement?

For this reason I must tell you.

This is my final friday night lights,

With you.
