Out of the Abyss

Out of the Abyss

Grow up or you float

on the rocky waters filled with lies.

Young and naive,

when all you know is your enemy's words

and your demon's fists.

I remember you told me

that I was born from the abyss of ugly creatures.

But now I know those very words

were born from the abyss of hate and pain.

No longer will I

suffer blows from whips made of words.

I will instead

embrace the warm glow of self-love.
