Pansy
There is a flower in my yard.
Whose life this winter, was very hard.
She bloomed too early, before snow's depart.
I saw her smothered in nature's icy heart.
I thought she died from agony.
A gonner for sure, she seemed to be.
Yet, the final snow melted away,
And there she was! Destroyed? Nay!
She was rosy, bright, cheery as ever.
Shall I doubt a flower again? Certaintly, never!
To all my flowers: Do not despair.
To all my skeptics: Listen with Care;
I write this poem as a cautionary tale.
Do not doubt a flower. She will prevail.
