Poem of Courage

Take a seat and learn this lesson,

You’re no better; I’m no less; get the message?

Your whereabouts I will no longer question,

I have grown tired trying to get your attention.

I’m so hurt you don’t notice my depression,

I’m finally here giving you my confession.

Come and sit, don’t you dare ignore,

You’ll be here ‘til you can take no more.

And if it were me you truly cared for,

Then I never would have been so hardcore.

Watch, you’ll cry when I walk out the door,

You’ll fall on your knees to hug that cold floor.

I’ll forget about you within minutes,

This world is so cold, my whole body stiffens,

And with hatred and anger my heart thickens,

Rub your hands together to cause all the frictions.

I can no longer deal with all of your afflictions,

You talk about the love you once had my stomach sickens.

I dont really care about all of this,

Thinking about it, it’s you I dismiss.

Walk away and you won’t be missed,

Decision’s been made, please don’t insist.

I won’t trip; to me you don’t exist,

I’ll leave you broken hearted and unkissed.

I will walk with a smile on my face,

Don’t look at me like I’m crazy; you’re the lost case.

I could kill your dreams and leave no trace,

It is you that I can easily replace.

My dreams and goals are no disgrace,

Never thought I would go back to my old place.

Now this is where I get more respected,

For I have nothing that could be regretted.

No more days of you making me feel rejected,

From me  your cruel actions will be reflected.

From destroying good times you were restricted,

Realized you were a mistake that needed to be corrected.

I keep my head held high when you don’t think of me,

It’s alright cause you don’t know all about this Queen Bee.

The dirt you’ve spit yet I’m still shining with my white tee,

Thought I wouldn’t have a thing on you to make you plea.

Me crying is the number one thing that is just too rarely,

And to mess with my family is dangerously risky.

Try not to get scared of your very own game,

Why, being stronger and a know-it-all is what you overclaim.

You’ll never know the story that I won’t disclaim,

I’ll admit to the fact I’ve disappointed people who I won’t name.

But it doesn’t mean there’s only me to blame,

I know have no one left me for being a little too lame.

Now it’s time for me to apologize and forgive,

I appreciate the life I’m in for that amazing motive.

For that one person who's been so abusive,

I want to walk out; but you’re so damn addictive.

When I’m at the door, you strike and hold me captive,

I try to let them know but no one sees you as aggressive.

And now on the room’s center table I’ve left this as a message,

I’ve cleared that room and walked out with my luggage.

I’m not sorry because I know I’ll be able to manage,

You never worried about anything that wasn’t your garbage.

I am now standing tall with such amazing self image,

This is my poem of power; it’s my poem of courage.
