Riana
Why do I stumble beneath your feet?
I am a jester, a peasant, a pawn
You,
A puppeteer with prying eyes, flaming daggers
Watching as I hang helplessly from a thousand strings
Young doyenne of these hallowed halls,
What is in store for me today?
Will I fall beneath you once more?
Will I tremble before you?
No malice is restrained from the metal chains upon your teeth
The poison that runs ferociously from your lips is left unkempt
You wake at dawn with that rampant flame in your eyes
A blustering storm of torment awaiting me each day
Monday, I am exasperating
Tuesday, I am invisible
Wednesday, I am aggravating
Thursday, I am cynical
Weeks feel like centuries,
One century too long
But I have awaited this day, young tyrant
My time has come for redemption
A dominating fortress towers above me
But today, I ascend these concrete walls you've built
Today, I stand upon its snow crowned peak,
And in the most deafening scream I uncover you
I expose you
I reveal what lies beneath your specious, porcelain skin
For I have discovered my long lost weapon
My voice is my weapon of choice
But fear not
My piercing cries of conquest are for your ears only
My words,
They are not poisoned, not evil
They will only bruise your ego
Young tyrant, you are ruthless
You have given me more than bruises,
Today, you plead for mercy, as I have
You ask forgiveness, as I have
But you are powerless,
You are merciless,
You are unforgiving
Monday, I was exasperated
Tuesday, I was invisible
Wednesday, I was aggravated
Today, I am invincible.
