The Secret of the Year

Whispers in the wind, you're slow but moving fast.

Bumping into people, people full of masks.

Trying to hide your face but you know it won't help;

They all know what you try not to tell.

The hallway full of secrets, others point and laugh.

With nervous eyes, you try to run to class.

One thing you should know though, they do it out of fear.

They just don't want to be that secret, that secret of the year.

You're scared. You're nervous. You're rightfully so.

But those rumors are just rumors, don't you know?

It doesn't seem like it, but eventually time will pass,

Sooner or later those rumors won't matter to the rest.

You're awesome; you're great and admirably so,

Don't let those whispers hold back your glow.
