Society Drained Colors

Fri, 10/11/2019 - 14:58 -- Taylerk

They believed that if they looked in the mirror, their reflection would shatter the glass

Only, because society made them think that way

The colors of their personality washed down their imperfect, blemished body

Caressing their scars lovingly for the last time before leaving forever

Because society didn't approve of who they were

Soon their personality switched into black and white

They watched their personalities swim away until their vision blurred

Their chest heaved when their bones trembled and snapped

A loud crack breaks the silence before their bodies go limp, falling in a heap

Their souls carried the weight of sadness and fear

Because society had drained their colors

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple had vanished

Completely gone.

The colors of their personality didn’t exist anymore

Because society took their colors away.
