Sonnet for the Teen Years

There is no quiet place

inside of my head

everything between us seems dead

I can’t help but to think there is no sun

it is forever dark here

day is always done

People speak of better days

the weight will be lighter

I’ll be released from this haze

I don’t know if I can wait that long

each day goes by

and I try to be strong

but I believe it was broken

I swear my intentions were golden
