Why

Am I

Still

A Single

Item?

Perhaps

it is

Ridiculous

Expectations

I possess

Out of habit

Can’t be helped

Apparently

I can’t have

A man with

All my desires

Do I want

To be kissed

On the hand

And treated like

A medieval princess?

Yes.

What about if

He had heliotrope

Hair and perpetual

Eyebags but the

Softest touch and

The sweetest tongue?

Also yes.

Or what if

I wanted to

Have late night

Soliloquies out loud

While we laughed

And exchanged banter?

Yes, as well.

And even so,

Eyes of sapphire,

Loyalty of titanium,

Resolve of platinum,

Grip on my

Waist: firm feathers?

Sign me up.

It’s a shame

That my viewing

Of fictitious men

Has tainted my

View of the

Real life ones.
