Stereotypes of a Jamaican Boy

Awww man

I just dont understand

All these stereotypes

About a Jamaican man

People call me violent

They say i am worth nothing

They call me petty

They say i'm not good at anything

Burt swinging a machete

They say i am angry

And i am mean

Beacuse at times

i'm a loner

And they say i pride myself

at being a stoner

But of all the stereotype

They throw at my plate

The one that say we all smoke

Is the one

I most loathe

At the start of 10th grade

I was introducing myself to the folk

in my class

Described myself

And said that

I  never and would never

do drugs

in the present, futer nor past

Suddenly this loud voice spoke

He said

What? man, that gotta be a joke

Your Jamaican so

You gotta smoke

I was offended and upset

I wanted to get

My fist next

To his face

But if i did that

They would all be right

And i'lld be a disgrace

So whenever i here those stereotypes

I just laugh

Because if those were what defined a Jamiacn

I guess i would be a rear man

From the islands.
