Tearing Me down
You push me like a pen.
What are you hoping for?
If I had the strength of a thousand men,
Would you back off, or do more?
You've torn me in two,
But I'm already shreading.
And now, I don't know what to do.
Each day I am dreading.
I feel like I'm dying,
even before I'm trying.
Maybe one day I'll have a life,
But for right now, in my heart, I feel like there's a knife.
So, are you going to push more?
Or will you finally let go?
For my heart is already sore,
Need there be more, so?
Let go, and let me be free.
Let go, and let me spread my wings.
Maybe, one day, you'll let me be.
Hopefully, before my life's bell has rung it's last ring.
