The Choice
Where do you run?
When the light goes out,
When darkness swallows you whole
And leaves no place to call a home?
Do you scream for help,
Or do you plead for mercy?
Do you fight with all your might
Or do you simply stay resigned?
Do you try to save your soul,
Your heart, a place forlorn und torn?
Or do you join the ranks of those,
Whose dignity cannot be restored?
Whichever road you choose,
You still shall rest assured
That even if the joy is gone,
You’re still the judge of who you are.
