The Nameless
He who shall not be named
Was born into luxury.
He ate from silver spoons
Mined and crafted by the scorned.
Those who shall not be seen
Were born into filth.
They eat off cardboard boxes
That double as cheap blinds.
He who shall not be named
Went to school in the city,
Used his father’s "generosity"
To learn to stay rich.
Those who shall not be learned
Work in downtown bodegas.
Their families’ businesses
Don’t come with such perks.
He who shall not be named
Has friends with big plans,
White collars, nice land,
Large files, small girls.
Those who shall not be missed
Have big families, four kids,
Three adults, two in cribs,
One day, they're one short.
He who shall not be named
Runs a public-facing campaign—
A new-approach politician,
Someone who’ll stir the pot.
Those who have no name
Fill the streets with noise and flesh,
Use their 1st, leave their 4th—
American Martyrs, Patriots, Terrorists, Aliens
He who shall not be named
Has a name that towers high,
Charges a lifetime per night,
Sleeps soundly states away.
Those who shall not live,
Get dumped from cramped studios,
Forced to paint more spacious streets,
Rinse red brushes in the gutter.
