The Vinyl

I found your shadow in the dust tonight Spinning circles in the neon light Every crack still knows your name Every silence sounds the same You left the room, but never left my head Now your ghost sleeps where I lay instead A record scratched goodbye You keep playing every night I hate that I still know the way your laughter used to glow A broken melody haunting me Your fingerprints would not leave the grooves you made Now every song sounds like your voice You replaced me like a favorite tune Found another heart to ruin Do they know the promises you could not keep And, how easy can you leave? Am I just another track? You swore you would never skip like that You got the ending you were chasing all along I got the echo of a half-finished song The needle lifts, But loving you is playing still You are my vinyl, turning endlessly
